INTRICACIES OF HUMAN CONNECTION

A NEW APPROACH TO NAVIGATING THE

when we choose to view intimacy as a skill instead of an inherent knowing, it becomes clear that there’s a gap between expectation and reality.

how can we expect to feel confident in communicating deeply vulnerable wants, needs and boundaries with others if we’ve never been given the proper tools to practice?

& LIKE ANY SKILL, IT MUST BE DEVELOPED, EXPERIENCED & TAUGHT OVER TIME

instead of learning intimacy through trial and error, which can build destructive habits over time, imagine practicing with a guide that shares constructive feedback in real time and encourages you to ask the questions you’ve always wanted to about sex and intimacy.

HUNTER RAE

Hunter Rae, somatic intimacy & sex coach

as a queer somatic sex & intimacy coach, i teach folks how to navigate their nervous systems in a way that deepens intimacy, creates stronger emotional bonds and cultivates more fulfilling relationships without the confines of traditional gender roles and societal expectations.

in my personal experience of navigating sex & intimacy through trial and error, i found that:

/ MY INTIMATE CONNECTIONS WERE LACKING PASSION, EXCITEMENT, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THEY DIDN’T FEEL GOOD!

after years of settling, i audited my life and relationships with the goal of prioritizing my own pleasure and, as a result, repaired the relationship i have with my body and my sexuality.

we need to be able to enter the erotic space of another without the terror of losing ourselves.

“Hunter is an intuitive teacher who listens intentionally and always follows my pace. As a survivor of sexual assault, it’s been challenging to learn how to re-engage myself sexually, but doing this work has helped me understand how my mind and body operate during sex in a non-judgmental way and has left a profound impact on my healing journey.”

“Not only did Hunter teach me how to communicate better with my partner, but she also helped me grasp a deeper understanding of my emotions and how my “old habits” were holding me back. Forever grateful for the communication tools & level of self-awareness I’ve learned in sessions with her!”

 QUESTIONS

  • a certified coach that guides people through exercises in either individual or group sessions with the goal of unlocking deeper emotional connections in both platonic and romantic relationships.

by using a blend of talk-based coaching with hands-on experiential practices, clients can learn to break unhealthy habits, uncover true desires and release stored embarrassment and shame in order to build more fulfilling relationships and deeper emotional connections with others.

  • working with an intimacy coach is a an approachable way to openly ask the questions you’ve always wanted to ask about relationships, intimacy and sex in a safe, playful and confidential space.

some people work with a coach with the intention of enhancing their romantic and sexual relationships: to learn how to have more exciting sex, feel deeper connection with their partners and explore new parts of their erotic self.

others work with a coach to build intimacy skills that translate across platonic relationships, romantic relationships, and sexual relationships: to learn how to communicate wants, needs and boundaries effectively, build trust through stronger interpersonal bonds and understand how to repair wounds from a place of accountability and respect.

  • our first session will be centered around setting goals and gauging your current capacity for intimacy.

we’ll start by setting a safe, open-minded container and talk about what milestones and goals you’re looking to achieve in this work. we’ll also drop into our first hands-on, experiential exercise together and start listening to your somatic nervous system.

  • as a trauma-informed practitioner doing deeply vulnerable work, i understand the power that comes with looking ahead instead of looking back.

my coaching approach is oriented to your current phase of life and although we might reference the past for context, we won’t be unpacking or searching to understand it. it’s not necessary to dive deep into past experiences in order to learn a new skill that supports your future.

if you are someone who has unprocessed sexual or body trauma, i encourage you to explore this work in parallel with a trauma therapist.

  • your goals and preferences will dictate if therapy and/or coaching is the right fit for you!

therapy is typically oriented to the past, supporting clients’ mental health by helping them process thoughts, emotions, and behaviors from the past with the goal of influencing future patterns over time.

my coaching practice is orientated to the present; i use a hands-on, experiential approach to help you modify behavior and thought patters through practice in real time.

sharing relevant history in this work can be helpful but isn’t necessary. my personal approach is focused on measuring your current state against your goals to create a clear path forward.

some people solely work with intimacy coaches or therapists while others explore both offerings in parallel!

  • i require that all new clients book a free, 20-minute discovery call with me before we move forward with sessions to make sure this is the right fit!

i work with people across the gender spectrum but have found that most of my clients are vulva-owners, including cis women, queer and trans AFAB folks.

  • my clients get the most value from this work when we meet weekly in a coaching container of either one, three, or six-months.

in our discovery call, we’ll talk about your unique goals and which coaching package will give you the best results!

  • sex and intimacy coaching is not the same as working with a sexological bodyworker or sexual surrogate.

sexual surrogates typically host sessions in-person with the intention of exploring two-way physical touch with clients both clothed and naked. this work often requires a referral from a psychotherapist.

sex and intimacy coaching sessions can be hosted either in-person or online. in-person sessions may include consensual, two-way touch between practitioner and client but does not include removal of any clothing, kissing, or oral / genital sex.

  • i do not accept insurance.

payment for sessions can be made online with credit and debit cards. if you prefer to send funds discreetly, i also accept money transfers through Zelle and Venmo.

  • i wanted to choose a name for my practice that embodied the contrast between the soft, sensual side of intimacy and the primal, ravenous feeling of desire.

since childhood, i’ve been mesmerized by the gentle, tender beauty of fern leaves and i believe the experience of witnessing a fox in the woods is striking, magical and somewhat sensual. their confidence and ability to move through spaces is unmatched and i find it incredibly sexy when humans carry that energy as well.
